About

Our Story

Calgary Art Community was founded by Tabitha Schae in 2022 with a simple goal: to promote and encourage artists in Calgary.

As an artist herself, Tabitha was searching for opportunities to showcase her work but quickly realized that many exhibitions required paid memberships and were often already full. It was difficult for emerging and local artists to find accessible spaces to share their work and connect with the community.

This experience inspired her to create something different, a welcoming space where artists of all levels could participate and where local artists would always be the priority.

Calgary Art Community was built alongside co-founder Nicholas Hallam, a fellow artist. Together they helped bring the vision to life, building easels, organizing and promoting events, and working side-by-side to grow a supportive creative community.

Since its founding, Calgary Art Community has hosted several art shows and exhibitions while collaborating with the local community to create opportunities for artists, including murals and painted electrical box projects throughout the city.

Today, CAC continues to focus on creating meaningful opportunities for artists to exhibit their work, connect with collectors, and build lasting relationships within the creative community.

A Special Thank You

Calgary Art Community would not be possible without the support of dedicated volunteers who help bring ideas to life. A special thank you to:

Barb Sotiropoulos, Afton Brazzoni, and Denise Barting

Their contributions through marketing, branding, and creative brainstorming have helped shape and grow the Calgary Art Community into what it is today.
